George T. Perrett is an associate attorney with Butler, Toweson & Payseno – PLLC. He joined the firm in 2005, having formerly been a partner with the Battle Creek, Michigan law firm of Vandervoort, Christ & Fisher, P.C.

Over the last 35 years, George has developed a substantial and respected trust and probate litigation practice throughout the State of Michigan. In addition, he represents clients in contract, business, and personal injury litigation matters and acts as appellate counsel for a variety of clients before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.  He also regularly assists clients in various transactional matters, helping clients work through difficult issues, reach agreement and minimize the possibility of future litigation. Finally, George is a very capable estate planner who spends considerable time educating his clients on various estate planning options and drafting documents to meet their needs.

Since beginning his law practice in 1989, George has joined his passion for serving clients with his passion for serving the communities of Southwest Michigan.  He has served on numerous community organization boards and was an elected county official in Calhoun County.  For ten years from 1991 through the end of 2000, George served on the State Bar of Michigan Subcommittee on Professional Ethics and subsequently served for a brief period on the State Bar of Michigan Subcommittee on Judicial Qualifications, providing guidance to Michigan’s Governor regarding the qualifications and merits of various lawyer candidates for mid-term gubernatorial judicial appointments.

George resides in Oshtemo Township, Michigan, where he serves his neighborhood homeowner’s association as its president.  He serves his church as a member of its Board and Clerk and has served in the past as an elder on its Practical Theology team. George has three adult children (two that are his and a stepdaughter) and, in addition to spending time with family and friends, he loves travel, politics, reading, golf, baseball, and University of Michigan and Detroit Lions football.
