Leslie L. Payseno

LESLIE L. PAYSENO

Practice Areas: Family Law, Domestic Relations

Leslie L. Payseno, a Parchment native, is a member of Butler, Toweson & Payseno PLLC, where she has practiced since 2002.  In that time, Leslie has developed one of the most well-respected domestic relations practices in all southwest Michigan, focusing on all aspects of divorce, including child custody and visitation, complex property settlement, paternity, child and spousal support, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.

Through her decades of experience, Leslie has learned that a client’s divorce is a stressful, emotional time that requires a compassionate counselor, who can grasp her client’s unique family situation, understand the law, and can work diligently to protect her client’s interests.  She uses her knowledge and understanding of the process to guide her clients through this difficult time.

A problem solver that seeks creative legal solutions to often difficult and delicate family problems, Leslie finds the structure and answers that will permit her clients to move forward confidently into this new stage of their lives.  She is a tenacious litigator when she needs to be and is well respected in the courtroom by judges and opposing counsel, alike. Leslie is regularly consulted by her professional colleagues concerning domestic relations matters that present unique and difficult questions of fact and/or law.

A former Division I college athlete, Leslie has combined her busy law practice with a commitment to the youth in southwest Michigan, by volunteer coaching local high school volleyball in recent years. She has also served in pro bono legal service programs through the local bar.

A member of the State Bar of Michigan, including its Family Law Section, and the Kalamazoo County Bar Association, Leslie is admitted to practice before all state courts in the State of Michigan.  She is also often involved in appellate matters before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court, including significant cases that were of both state and national importance.

Leslie enjoys golf, travel, reading, and her leisure time with family and friends.
